Hackleton History
Hackleton was in 1066 in the possession of the Bishop of Constance passing through the hands of Turgis de Quinton, of the Duke of Buckingham and of Queen Elizabeth I’s minister, Thomas Cromwell to Lord Overstone.
A primary agricultural parish of 1,086 acres. Hackleton, for many years supported several outlets for spirituous liqueurs, of which the White Hart is almost certainly the oldest.
Since 1739
The first officially recorded licensee of The White Hart was back in 1739 where Robert Holt is named as the Landlord. Since then, there has been several landlords tied to the pubs history.
A family run business.
Today, the grade 2 listed building is family run by local family the Sharif’s. The White Hart has been trading under the leadership of the Sharif family name for well over 16 years, with one of the two sons being born in the pub being the first child in over 80 years to be born there.
